How then - here is a serious contender for the worst film ever made. No, it's not the worst in terms of production or terribly dubbed dialogue. It might just be the worst because it has two established stars - Lon Chaney Jnr. ("Belial") and John Carradine ("Andre") making such a dreadful hash of it that it really must be seen to be believed. It starts off interestingly enough - the two being warlocks, brothers and competitors for the family fortune, but what follows is simply ridiculous. Their fight for the fortune involves some crass dialogue, risible effects - think sparklers and joss sticks, and acting from a supporting cast that were turned down by the equivalent of central casting in Mogadishu (in 1965). The score works hard to compensate - what (tiny bit of) menace there is comes from that, otherwise this is a film that astounds! Shocking drivel.
